## Overview

The SAFAVIEH Paris Shag Rug (8x10 ft) is a hand-tufted, 2.5-inch thick ivory area rug crafted from durable polypropylene with a soft cotton backing. Designed for indoor use, it features a flowing shag pile that adds luxurious texture and subtle sheen, perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas. Handmade by skilled artisans, each rug offers unique color and size variations, embodying authentic craftsmanship from a trusted brand with over a century of home furnishing expertise.

## Description

The SAFAVIEH Paris Shag 511 collection is a plain ivory shag hand-tufted from polyester at 2 1/2", a deeper and softer hand than a power-loomed shag of the same height. Each rug is tufted rather than woven, which is what gives the pile its density and its recovery after weight. Polyester takes color cleanly and resists fading, and the depth is enough to sit on comfortably. Paris Shag suits a living room, bedroom or dorm room where comfort comes before formality.

## Features

- [DESIGN & PILE]: SAFAVIEH's Paris Shag rug is an unpatterned ivory shag in a hand-tufted polyester pile, and its 2 1/2" pile is deep, plush and fluffy underfoot in a living room, bedroom or dorm room.
- [SOFT UNDERFOOT]: Hand-tufted from polyester into a 2 1/2" pile, deep and dense enough to recover after furniture and take high-traffic areas, holding its texture in an entryway, hallway, home office or dining room.
- [EASY CARE]: Vacuum on the highest setting with the beater bar off, and spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water.
- [WHAT TO EXPECT]: Light shedding is normal in the first weeks and stops once the loose fibers have vacuumed out. Creases relax within a few days laid flat, and the pile shades depending which way it is brushed. A SAFAVIEH rug pad adds stability underfoot.
- [TRUSTED BRAND]: For over a century, SAFAVIEH has been synonymous with exceptional quality and timeless design, a legacy carried through four generations. From New York, we offer rugs, furniture, lighting, and decor to help you design a space you love.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get my rug edges to lie flat?**
A: Rugs are rolled or folded for safe transit, so creases and curled edges are to be expected. Lay the rug flat, or reverse-roll and the marks will release within a few days.

**Q: Why does my rug look different than the photo?**
A: Because the fibers lie in one direction, the rug appears lighter from one end and darker from the other, with the tone shifting as you move around it. Room lighting and screen settings can also affect how the color reads.

**Q: Why does my rug shed?**
A: A little shedding is normal on a new rug, and it subsides within a few days as the loose fibers work their way out.We suggest vacuuming regularly without a beater bar to help it along.

**Q: Why does my rug smell?**
A: A light scent is normal after a rug has been rolled and wrapped for shipping. Let air circulate through the room and it will fade within a few days.

**Q: How do I clean my rug?**
A: Vacuum regularly in the direction of the pile, not against it, and skip the beater bar. Blot spills rather than rubbing them. Natural fiber rugs should be shaken out to release dirt and debris, avoid wet cleaning.
