But servers presented with this shiny straw are immeasurably more likely to remember, and the straw has started some good conversations with people who wonder why I bother.(I don't think I'm personally saving the planet by minimizing my waste in these ways; however, the behavior of others, even en masse, does not absolve me from being aware of my own actions. I choose to err on the side of reducing my waste. Besides, my regular use of these straws has inspired the manager of my favorite pub to consider offering straws only upon request, and/or offer paper straws instead. Baby steps!)Do I drink out of these straws? Rarely. But they're nice to stir with and even sip through, when I do, and they clean up easily afterward. My only complaint is that I'm pretty forgetful, so I occasionally leave them behind at a restaurant when I'm done.
