It had been stained with a dark color that we thought would look nice in our space but it was too dark and didn't work with the chairs we owned already. Not having a ton of money to spend on new seating I came to desertcart for a solution and found these. I'm glad I did! I got 2 benches (sold separately) and a set of 2 chairs. This review is for the benches. I bought them separately so each came in its own box. Both were packed carefully, no damage, no missing pieces. The assembly instructions were clear, though it was so simple I doubt most people would need to read them. We got them assembled with the included allen wrenches in just a few minutes. They are sturdy and they look really nice with the table. The light color of the upholstery and the dark legs is the perfect contrast and the nailhead trim works well with the rustic style of a farmhouse table, but gives it a little flair. The nailhead trim isn't catching on clothing, everything is nice and smooth. The padding is firm - and this is the only time when the low price shows. I wouldn't call it ultra comfortable - like I wouldn't want to lounge on it to watch TV. But to sit up at a table and eat a meal and sit and talk for a bit: it's just right.
