Review: Great for wood preservation! - I have been using Watco Danish oil for years! It absorbs well in to the wood and preserves your outdoor wood nicely. Easy to apply using rag, sponge, or brush. Directions for drying time are accurate, depending on humidity, wind, etc. I use this outside and don’t notice an odor. It goes a long way. I usually use two coats. I want it to soak well into my wood for preservation. Good value for what it is and how far it goes. I love the black walnut color. It is a great, rich color for your wood posts and accent wood pieces. I have used it for my patio posts, pergola, benches, pine floors, and grill shelves. Years ago I could purchase it in gallon metal containers, but now, I can only find this in pints. Bummer!
Review: I love the color and matte finish - I used this on the butcher block counters in my bus build. It looks so good I get lots of compliments. I have even started using it for other wood working projects. I love the rich color. I do twice a year re oil the counters but that's also because it's taking extra abuse in a vehicle during summer. It's so easy to apply and dries quickly. The smell lingered a couple of days, but it was also used in a very small space during summer so it took a bit longer to dry than when I apply as maintenence during cooler months. I've bought this 3 times now because I really love the look. I'm redoing a bookshelf now and it's exactly how I pictured it.

A: This number is Golden Oak the company listing these items originally only used the natural image for all items.

**Q: What does lo voc mean?**
A: Low "volatile organic compounds"

Roughly translated its low amount of potentially harmful vapor from being emitted.

**Q: I have maple splines in the walnut I was wondering will it ruin the maple?**
A: It will darken the Naples so that it will no longer look like maple. It will also darken the walnut likely more than you want. This product is not for walnut. It is for making lighter woods appear to be walnut.

**Q: Would this product prevent mildew in unfinished headboard?**
A: I think this product is great. By itself I don’t think it would prevent mildew but together with a water based polyurethane You should be in business if applied properly. Use enough coats of the polyurethane after you get the desired stain color.

I used this on an unfinished guitar, the wood was very dry and porous. This made it beautiful, brought out the natural design of the wood, and made a beautiful finish. I put too much on and didn't give it time to dry, and had to strip it off and start over. Just takes a little or you will regret it. I did. It was a first very awful, wanted to throw away my guitar. ! yuck. Then I came to my senses, stripped it of and started new like a normal person and used just a little with a cloth, (don 't use paint brush), was just fine then.
