I recently tried to create my own drip bottles using a cotton wick and it didn't work so these were a great find. I have used the terracotta inserts but I like these much better.One reviewer called these a waste of money in the Q&A section but in her review commented that she'd used the wrong bottles. Her error is not the fault of the manufacturer. Just make sure you save any empties from Coke products and you should be good to go. The photo I attached shows the bottles these will accept. I used a Dasani water bottle and it threads onto the spike perfectly with no leaking.( EDIT - the valve insert did drip a little bit at one point but I just had to adjust it and push it in more tightly and that remedied the problem.)The adjustment valves allow you to control the drip. The instructions say to make sure when you put it in the plant the bottom of the valve is touching the soil and because the spike is so pointed, you'll have no problem inserting it into the soil far enough.So happy I found these, no complaints at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good idea but you can only use certain water bottles *by V***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2019* I got these to keep our balcony plants watered while we were gone. I have a lot of generic water bottles, so I thought that this would work perfectly! I didn't know that they only use certain brands of water bottles. and certain brands of soda liters. There's a picture in the directions of the water brands that will work with them.
