The faux leather is a bit fake looking on close inspection but generally looks good and is what I'd hoped for. What I like most about the chair is that I've forgotten about it when sitting in it every day. It functions, its comfortable, it doesn't creak - its just a good chair. Its a bit sweaty on hot days but they also sell a mesh version that I had looked at as well.
