It’s fairly sturdy, if you don’t overload it and things need to be balanced out a bit as it can bend into the direction where it might be too heavy. It’s not necessarily sturdy enough for winter coats etc. but will be fine for jumpers and lighter items. The assembly was pretty much straight forward, I just got a little confused at the end as some of the connectors really need to be in the right spot to be able to hold the rail pole etc. as there are some with two connection-point and some have three, so it’s not always obvious where they have to go and It’s not necessarily well explained in the manual but I eventually managed to do it. If you just need it for the odd overflow of jumpers, T-shirts etc. it’s definitely worth the purchase. (I decided on down as a comibination of up and down made it wonky!) Now it's assembled, the bent join doesn't seem to pose a problem....... Assembly was fairly easy, seemed sturdy enough! How wrong! it collapsed on my son last week. I put that down to the fact I may have made an error when assembling it ( I took the cover off and checked if I had done anything wrong against the instruction sheet - all was ok, one of the fitting has started to become loose. I re-secured it and put the cover back on.) last night it woke me up, it had collapsed!! So glad the kids were asleep. I had no where near as much in it as the advertised photograph and was only using half of the pole space! One of the poles has snapped and it can no longer be used.
