First-off, it is NOT made of nylon or spandex, it is 60% cotton and 40% polyester. That makes it breathable, light, and absorbent. It's stretchy, but cotton is not elastic! It is a quality product. It will maintain it's shape. I plan to get another, maybe in a different color. I wear a size large hat, I have longish hair, and it fits me comfortably over the ears, or I can double it over to wear it above my ears. It's light enough for warm weather, and warm enough for a chilly day. I will wash it in a detergent for delicate fabrics by hand. It will maintain shape and color longer that way. It might be too tight for an enormous head, thick dreadlocks, or if you were expecting nylon or some really stretchy material. The product description does not indicate it is super stretchy; and you would know better if you pay attention to what kind of material a garment is made of before you buy it. There will also be some factory defects in all garments, and in that case I would have rated accordingly.
