The built quality of the covers is great and you cannot tell they are not Nintendo once in place. However a word of warning, they can be very difficult to put together, I am very experienced in carrying out repairs and upgrades on small devices such as phones etc. As such thought this would be the JoyCons are another level, for the most part the swap over process is straight forward, until you get to the triggers. The way these are joined to the casing is not very easy to remove/replace (Nintendo design), underneath is a small micro switch with a metal cover and it is very easy to damage the micro switch if you are not aware. Luckily with my experience I was able to repair the micro switch. But please bare this in mind when buying. Once in place they are fantastic and my daughter loves them, highly recommended just do not expect a 10 minute change over. Installation of the components is fairly simple as long as you take your time and read the instructions well. I chose to keep the original black buttons in this shell - the contrast with the gold looks great and, if I'm honest, I didin't like the look of the gold buttons. What I will say, and should probably be expected given it's shiny gold, is that these things LOVE to show fingerprints. They will require regular wiping!
