    Not 5" tall interior

I purchased this for a variety of purposes but one being quick vacuuming mason jars of leftover foods.  Read reviews on other websites for this unit, double and triple checking that you could fit a standard pint size mason or ball jar in it.  Obviously not the same as canning and not intended for long term storage but basic vacuum saving for short term holding in a low O2 environment.  Short of it is,,, standard pint jars don't fit, even though they are only 4-3/4 tall without lid, they DO NOT fit in the supposed 5" tall chamber interior.  I placed a plastic jar inside with a height of 4-1/4" and it still hit the lid in the middle of the unit which prevented it closing and vacuuming tight.  Do not purchase this with that goal in mind.  Does a nice job to seal bags as described but only half pint or smaller jars will fit standing up.
