That was where I was impressed and purchased it. Here is why I feel led to write a review (which I normally find no problem with the majority of items I purchase on Amazon, especially after reading reviews): a product as advertised with sensibly features hard-to-beat, setup instructions requiring some technical insights to troubleshoot, and generally favorable reviews, should be trustworthy out of the box. In the end I experienced a flaw, however, sensing a basic software design issue exists using a Netgear router (not Netgear's fault). Here's my experience. Once received, I found the installation instructions were insufficient in the enclosed documents, rather those pointed the user to online support at the manufacturers website with linked documents and video which were invaluable. No problem since this is more the norm to save on paper - got it. Then came the test of my patience after reviewing the online instructions. I am not an expert (just a typical 'how it works' engineer), but savvy enough to follow the majority of instructions for software and hardware, in particular understanding the importance of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for WiFi home applications. This model PTZ security camera, like others I find, operate in the 2.4 GHz band. No problem, I have both bands with my current Netgear router. The instructions also mentioned the user''s wireless network specifically follows the 2.4 GHz g/n protocol. No problem, except my Netgear router only recognized 2.4 GHz b/g/n. No problem, I thought, since the PTZ online support documents showed the actual screenshot of the Netgear router using the 2.4 GHz b/g/n setting, and likewise resetting the bandwidth speed to 54 Mbps. I even changed my security option to match the PTZ WPA2-PSK (AES) setting. Experts, don't get upset. I'm like other users - just show me the correct setting and I'll comply, but may not totally understand why. Try cranking your 2-cycle blower/weedeater on the wrong oil/gasoline mixture to no avail, and I can explain why. Regardless, the iPhone app for the PTZ was easy and fast to download/install, then follow instructions to read the PTZ's bar code and next synchronize the iPhone/PTZ with your wireless network. This is where trial/error, rebooting my router and the camera, and using different phones over the next hour followed. Even totally resetting all hardware to original factory settings and again following setup failed. Reviewing instructions each time, I noticed other router manufacturers had 2.4 GHz g/n options. Again, I'm no expert, but I'm sensing the 801.11 b/g/n may be the difference, although the g is backwards compatible with b. I don't think I received a faulty unit, rather a glitch in their software. Sadly, I returned it, not wanting to experiment with a second risk of a design flaw. I honestly was beaten on applying the correct instructions, even reading online forums what may be the issue. So after several hours total investment in researching and troubleshooting, I had to return it, all parts (even twist ties properly wrapped) as received. Next step: thoroughly review other competing products for clear online instructions and reviews prior to purchase. Kudos to Amazon for providing buyers the feedback/rating forums. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Pics and Video and simple to set up! *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2019* Having a lot of experience setting up video Cams I was very pleased with this purchase, where I purchased two of them. Initial set up of was a breeze through the APP. Most remarkable are two items in particular. The speed at which the camera moves from one preset (the ones you set up) to new preset entered. Example: If I have the cam on the front of the house that faces the street, I would set, (you set up the presets), Preset 1 to the extreme left and Preset 10 to the extreme right, with the other Presets all in between. If I iniate movenment of the camera from Preset 1 to 10, it would move to that location in 2 seconds or less. Comes in handy when you see something and want the camera to go NOW. Secondly, was to change the WIFI to a different network with having to take the Camera down. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super Value *by T***0 on Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2019* Over the past few years I have used several brands of WiFi cameras and various pricing. This camera has features that work well. The PAN, Tilt, Zoom feature works good with the exception of the app which makes its difficult to set it exactly where I would like to point it. I use a WiFi extender and the connection is rather quick to connect. The night vision even with out the added lights from the cameras leds shows a very bright area. I do like the alarm settings and options. I am using a 128 gig sd card which makes it self sufficient (no cloud subscription needed). The only draw back is the app. For the price of the camera and what it does I am impressed. I do plan on purchasing another one once I see how well it holds up to weather conditions in New York’s Northern Adirondack Region.One last thing. The set up wasn’t to bad. I used the app on my iPhone. My internet is fiber to the modem. Upload and download is excellent.
