Have used the latter extensively and love them, just wondering about new blue ones** A: I find them very satisfactory; I was able to complete a top down baby sweater, including the tiny sleeves using shorties and blue cables. I was pleased also that they seem to be interchangeable with red cables. **Q: Can they be used to make hats?** A: Yes, I’m using a 3” and a 2” tip right now, on a hat, because my two 4” tips were too tight fir the hat. Works like a dream **Q: Do these needle sizes come in the red shortie twist?** A: These are considered the small size needles. The red and the blue cables are made exactly the same.
