But this bike has held up so well and it has quickly become his favorite thing. It is super sturdy and really well made. He flies around the yard on it and it still looks brand new. I love that it can grow with him too. It was really easy to put together and he figured out how to use it right away. The balance feature gives him so much confidence and I can already tell it will make transitioning to pedals way easier. Stylish and literally the best outdoor toy I’ve ever bought for my kids. I wish I had known about it sooner. Within days, my son (2.5) went from walking to gliding to cruising. He rides fast AND turns corners while lifting his feet off the ground; he goes over bumps and down hills with ease. It’s incredible watching him challenge himself. He absolutely LOVES this bike, and everyone can’t get over how good he rides it. We get double takes all the time because he is THAT good and at such a little size. I bought the pedal conversion kit and love that we will get many years’ use. It’s built very well and should also last as a hand-me-down. If your kid doesn’t care for the tricycle or fears training wheels, a “strider“ balance bike is exactly what you need (I obviously can’t speak to other brands as I’ve never owned them). I guarantee you won’t regret this purchase!
