As a (totally) deaf person, I can’t hear when the lifeguard blows the whistle or gives instruction in the pool, but if anyone needs to communicate with me while I am swimming, all they need to do is write on this slate. Any pencil will work with it and it cleans easily with scouring powder (or sand but there is no sand at the pool)

This is great for writing on when wet or underwater. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for notes in the shower

I'm not a diver, for the record; I'm a writer. As such, I've jumped out of the shower to jot down ideas more times than I care to think about. I realized a few weeks ago that there probably existed something that would let me keep my dignity intact and my bath mat dry, and my purchase of this slate was the result of that hunch. I didn't want a refillable pad (because inevitably I'd run out of sheets and forget to order more for days) so the reusable nature of the slate is perfect. It's also a great size: big enough to write even long paragraphs or extensive bulleted lists. So, probably not what the designers had in mind, but incredibly useful nonetheless.
