Review: EXCELLENT Supplement, but likely NOT a 2 Month Supply for Most People - I have been purchasing the Mary Ruth's Ultra Digestive Ezymes for well over a year now. I am a 49 year old woman who has Celiac Disease. It caused a great deal of intestinal damage prior to me discovering I had it and going gluten free. It's to the point where I struggle with serious nutrient malabsorption. On top of that difficulty, I have a variety of complex digestive system issues. These enzymes have greatly helped with that, reducing bloating, stomach pains, and many other typical digestive woes. The supplements do have limits. I cannot expect to simply take the enzymes and not continue to watch what I eat. For example, I do have some dairy issues and while these help a lot, I cannot overdo the amount of dairy I consume at a meal. The pills can understandably only do so much. And of course those of us who truly need to eat gluten free due to medical issues, need to remain strictly gluten free, even with enzymes. So I do stay vigilant. Although it is nice to know that at a potluck or restaurant, these pills give me a bit of help should I encounter any accidental cross contamination. With all of that said, the biggest issue I find with these is not with the actual supplement pills. But rather I am troubled by the new-ish labeling on the bottle and in the description that boldly proclaims "2 month supply". In my opinion that is very unrealistic. I take one to two pills at a time. And I do this at every meal or snack because I have such extensive digestive issues. So some days, I could take 6 pills or more (of course depending on the meal/snack, often one pill will do with each intake of food). But with only 60 pills in a bottle, a "2 month supply" would equal only one pill a day (at only one meal or snack). I suppose if you are someone who only has occasional need for these supplements, that might work. But honestly, if you are to the point where you feel you need to spend money on enzymes, you are likely to need more help than that. My children also have Celiac, but we caught it sooner, so they don't have as much damage. They only use the enzymes when eating a food that might cause digestive issues. And yet, one bottle would not last 2 months for any of them. I did look on desertcart to check how many bottles I ordered in 2021. I discovered I'd purchased 44 bottles. However, that total does include the fact that there are two other members of our family who are taking these as well (not at every meal like me, but when they eat a food that might cause difficulty). This new labeling is troubling as it seems a huge oversight at best. And at the worst, it is very misleading marketing designed to hook someone on the effectiveness of the product in hopes they will then buy way more than one bottle every two months (I certainly do). I prefer to give this company the benefit of the doubt and say that it's not intentionally misleading though. But I do feel it's irresponsible that the bottle has the label that states it as fact. Yes, people can read the suggested way to take the supplements, can see how many total pills are in the bottle, and calculate accordingly. But some people may not do that. They may assume from the label that all that's needed is one pill a day and that stays in the system for 24 hours (which is incorrect). The info from the company does say in the desertcart description: "Each bottle contains 60 capsules, with a serving size of 1 capsule, and will last 1-2 months. Adults take 1 capsule prior to each meal or more capsules as needed." I believe that removing the misleading labeling would be ideal. But if that's not done, it would be best to clearly state on the bottle and in the online description on desertcart that how long the bottle lasts can vary widely as the pills need to be ingested with each meal or snack that may cause issues. For people like me, with intestinal damage, IBS, etc, that will be every meal and snack. For others, that will vary. I honestly don't see any way that, in complete honesty, a particular amount of time that a bottle will last can be set, much less advertised. I do still highly recommend this product, and I have given it five stars due to how much it has personally helped me and improved my life. There are many days when my gut feels normal, and that is an amazing blessing! Until I began using these, I was in absolute misery every day, even with the care I took to watch what I ate. I am still careful with food, but find this supplement a must-have in my life. I just wanted to write this review in the hopes that someone from the company would consider my input. I also wanted to highlight for those who may be considering purchasing this product that one bottle is very unlikely to last two months. Go ahead and buy it. If your experience is like mine, you will not waste your money! Just be sure to calculate how many pills you think you may need and purchase the number of bottles accordingly.
Review: A Game-Changer for My Digestive Health - I was dealing with persistent stomach discomfort and pain throughout both my upper and lower abdomen. While researching possible causes, I learned that digestive issues can sometimes be related to how our bodies process certain foods, including problems with digestion and excess gas. I decided to give these a try, and after taking them for about a week, I've noticed a significant difference. I take one before meals, and since starting them, I haven't experienced the abdominal pain that was bothering me. I'm so grateful I found this product. Of course, this is just my personal experience and not medical advice—everyone's situation is different, but it worked well for me.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where and how is this sourced? This has not yet been answered. What is this serrapeptase made from?**
A: Hi there,

While serrapeptase is often sourced from silkworm, ours is microbial-based. More specifically, our serrapeptase is sourced from Serratia marcescens.

The bacteria Serratia marcescens naturally produces serrapeptase enzymes. The enzymes are harvested from the culture by using a series of filtrations. It starts with a coarse filter, with gradually decreasing pore sizes, and ultimately what remains of bacterial fragments are removed by microfiltration. What comes out from the other side contains no bacteria, just the isolate enzymes.

Please reach out to our Customer Care Team if you have any further questions.

With care,
Cara

**Q: Are these enzymes grown on Aspergillus Niger fungus?**
A: Hi Susan,

We have a couple of Aspergillus species that we use to derive lipase from, and one of them is niger.

However, as is the case with ALL other enzymes that we produce, there is absolutely no trace of Aspergillus in our enzymes. That is because we use a series of micro filtration to isolate enzymes from other debris, including Aspergillus and their fragments.

Please reach out to our Customer Care Team with any further questions.

With care,
Cara

**Q: What has this helped you with?**
A: Hi Lucia,
Thank you so much for reaching out to us!

This proprietary blend of Serrapeptase and Protease and enzyme enhancers may aid digestion and offer immune support. Serrapeptase is especially powerful when it comes to breaking down dense proteins and is often used for its anti-inflammatory and pain-reduction benefits. It can also be used to enhance tissue repair and sinus management, with the clearing of mucus, while the Protease blend works at removing unwanted organisms, toxins, and cellular debris.

Please reach out to our Customer Care Team with any further questions.

With care,
Kris

**Q: What is the Serrapeptase enzyme blend within the capsule enteric-coated with? Is the powder coated with lipids, waxes, fatty acids, or Phthalates?**
A: Hi Sylvia,

Thank you so much for your question!

The serrapeptase is enteric-coated using Methacrylic Acid Copolymer (MAAC). It is a food-grade coating that’s GRAS & has been in use for over 50 years with no known side effects.

Enteric-coating is important because it helps the enzyme tolerate the acidic environment of the stomach. That allows for the majority of the enzymes to reach the small intestine intact, where they are absorbed into the bloodstream to be carried to every corner of the body, making our serrapeptase more efficient!

Please reach out to our Customer Care Team with any further questions :)

With care,
Kris
