I think it should come with a few instructions. I personally had no issues on how to use it, but someone not familiar with it may. The photos for the kit show the tent pegs straight up and down. Tent pegs should be hammered in at an angle. It also show that the hook of the hammer is pulling out the peg by the cord. In hard dirt the cord would probably break. I suggest using the hook to pull on the notches on the tent peg. The guylines are great and reflective; nice feature. The guyline adjuster should come with instructions on how to use it. Some users may not know how to adjust the tension. The back end of the hammer I assume is some type of trenching tool. This will come in handy on a rainy day if one wants to dig a small trench around their tent to redirect the rain runoff the tent. I took a file to the trenching part to make it sharper to dig better. I guess one could use the trencher in a garden too. The bag holds everything so that’s cool.
