**Q: Supplier: this is chinese not japanese??  the japanese star anise is poisonous!!  any documentation??**
A: I made Anise Extract with mine. They are incredibly flavorful. I made baked goods and I am still alive nor did anyone get sick.

A: The bag is 4 ounces and has about 60 or so in the bag

**Q: What is the Country of origin**
A: China. If you look carefully at the packaging, "product of China" is printed across the bottom of the label. The distributor is a U.S. company with the word 'natural' in its title and I think it is totally likely that this product has been in the U.S. for a long time. If it shipped in a container ship, it has not shipped recently.  The distributor is NaturalStyle USA

Good quality. Bought to make Thai Ice Tea because a recipe on YouTube said to get some. This adds a nice flavor. The packaging is good and the little star anise are not broken or crushed. Price is fair. You get a lot of star anise.
