I did alot of research, almost spending way too much for NOS off a popular auction site. Then I saw this Panasonic at a great price and decided to take a chance. I have owned many Panasonic products over the decades and have been generally pleased with them (we still have one of their Plasma TV's from 2013) And for my needs this little radio is perfect. I only use it when I go to bed to listen to my favorite overnight AM radio show. While the station is local to me it can be quite difficult to tune in. So far this radio has held the station and it comes in pretty clear for the entire night. Actually I now realize how lousy the Grundig was. This is the perfect size beside my pillow. I appreciate the small red tuning light and I like the old style tuning and volume dials. Battery life is excellent too. I listen to this every night for around five hours. It's been over a month using the same set of AA batteries. I can't speak to the quality of FM nor do I use the earphone jack.
