Review: Great for baby quilts - I used this for quilting baby quilts. I did quilt one twin size quilt on it and I wouldn't suggest anything larger unless you're going to take it off the stand and quilt for tvin your lap it's just not made for that kind of weight. Overall I thought it was sturdy and was a good size for my small space I have to work in. It did fairly well with gripping the material but I have arthritis and can't turn the wing nut as much as it probably could be turned. I do like the ability to be able to have it flat or at an angle. It was fairly easy to get my hands underneath from one side to the other. I like that I could work on my blanket in the living room or bedroom, it was easy to move. It was fairly easy to put together but I didn't think the instructions were that helpful. I think it is sturdy I didn't find it to be flimsy as others have noted but I could see that being the case if larger items were being put on the hoop. Review: Sturdier than what I thought from reviews. - I bought this because I have always quilted by hand with a hoop in my lap. With the years being what they are, sitting for long periods hunched over just wasn't getting it anymore. This hoop and stand allow me to sit up straighter and more comfortably. It does sway a bit with a full sized quilt in it, but if you move it and the quilt carefully everything is fine, joints still tight etc. Bonus I can now watch TV easier while I quilt. Update: Still working well.
