    Happy retro gaming!

*by E***T on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2015*

I've had my PS2 Slim connected to a component cable to my HD TV for a couple of years now. The image is ok, I would say "good enough" quality. I've heard about this SCART cable attached to this converter box:

Panlong PL-SH2H PAL/NTSC SCART to HDMI Video Converter Box 1080P Upscaler with 3.5mm and Coaxial Audio Output for Game Consoles, DVD, STB

, and how it could display the best resolution that you can get out of PS2. Although I did not get that impressively better resolution I expected (spoiled by HD consoles), it's still better than component, nonetheless. For a console that was released 15 years ago, you won't get a better resolution quality; unless of course you have a huge flat tube CRT laying around that you can use, or unless you have the money to spend on a high-end video processor like the Framemeister. At first I connected the SCART cable to my PS2 and then to the HDMI converter box and I got the PlayStation logo intro but all displayed in an ugly green screen. I felt like I was in the matrix. So after trying different resolutions, resetting the box and console, re-inserting the cables a few times; I was still in the Matrix-like green screen. :( as I was about to give up...as I left the PS2' s cover lid open and rebooted it, the system configuration option appeared on the screen. I decided to go into the settings and there it was! ...there's an option there to change the output signal. I had Component already selected, so I moved to the right and there was an RGB option as well. Chose RGB and rebooted all again...there it was! ...the PS2 logo, in its full color glory. So before you think the cable or the converter are faulty, check the System configuration menu first. :)I also bought 2 new wireless PS2 controllers to replace my old broken-down wired controllers. Got them from here:

Donop seablue 2.4g Wireless Controller for Ps2,game Pad Game Joysticks Gaming Controller Joypad Gamepad Console Controller for Sony Playstation 2 w/ Dual Shock Dual Vibration Feedback Motors Easy Installation for Ps2

This cable works as expected! The converter box I linked above can upscale the image to many different resolutions. Choose the one that's more pleasant to your eyes, and happy retro gaming! :)

Good cable for the money - but note it's only grounded on pin 18

*by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2015*

This cable is properly wired for RGB, including proper capacitors and a resistor. However, this cable is only wired to video ground on one pin (pin 18, composite ground). It's a better idea to have at least 17 and 18 both grounded. Rarely, if your scaler or monitor doesn't also short all ground pins together, you won't get a signal. Simple solution is to ensure your scaler or monitor is properly grounded on all appropriate pins. 99% of people won't have any issue with this cable. For the money, this is a good cable, if a bit thin. It shipped quickly. Signal that it transmits is clean. This works well with my scaler. This is a better cable than others offered on Amazon (the one with 2 stars) as it has proper caps and the resistor installed.

    Scart of CRT BVM monitor

*by E***1 on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2016*

I'm using this cable on a Sony BVM monitor, not a PVM and so far I have had no video or audio issues. The cable is not shield so I can see why some people may be having buzzing problems. My setup is not using a stereo receiver, instead I'm using powered PC speakers that run through the Red and White outputs. Side note, I first tried a Sync-on-Luma GROUNDED cable but it did not work, I heard that that is recommended for a Scart to hdmi upscale which I'm not doing.
