They have a nice heavy base to give them stability. They are surprisingly comfortable in the hand, and the proportions are just right for any drink begging for a classic highball glass. Any glassware will eventually be subject to breakage in the rough and tumble of life and celebrations, but I had no hesitation in purchasing another set of these to replace the breakages. Highly recommended.
