Will these damage the walls/windows when removed after a week?** A: The ones I gor today actually did come standard with 3M double sided tape and it sticks great. Dont know if it will damage after being on a few weeks but ai was able to pull it off the wall after about 30 min and no damage. **Q: I can see they have buttons/switches, are they easy for young children to mess with?** A: We use this on our son's door. We have it up high where he can't reach it. the sliding button is very tiny and I'm sure they could mess with it if it were in their reach. I had my husband mount it as high as he could. I stood with my arm up so I could reach it cuz I'm shorter than him, lol. My son doesn't touch it out of fear of hearing the noise go off. If the door is open (connection broken) and you turn it on it will chime or "bong" continually until the door is closed. Once my son heard the loud noises he doesn't go near it, lol, plus it's too high anyway. They're cheap enough to give it a whirl for you, but works like a charm for us! We showed our son, "If you open this door, this is what will happen!" and let it go off. **Q: Can this alarm be installed on sliding doors?** A: Since sliding doors design vary based upon manufacturer it's hard to accurately answer this request. However, if you can adhere both items of this product side by side - one being stationary, the other being the movable piece, then it will work just fine. In other words, when the sliding door is in the closed position, you must be able to install this product in such a way that when the door is opened, the two pieces "break contact" with one another thereby sounding the very loud and high-pitched alarm. One thing that isn't mentioned on the website, is that you will need an eyeglass screwdriver in order to loosen the battery cover, to remove the packing around the batteries. This tiny screwdriver will also be needed to remove the battery cover when the time comes to replace the LR44 batteries. Negatives: 1) Only four of the five alarms worked out of the box. I'm assuming that the fifth needed fresh batteries. I still kept the set. 2) I've been using a different brand of window security alarms for years. They were easier to mount due to the sensor (the more narrow piece) having enough surface area to stick securely to the window. The GE sensors are very narrow, and don't seem to stick as well as I would have liked. That said, I've always used double sided velcro tape (instead of the sticky tape that the sensors come with). The double sided velcro tape seems to secure the alarm and sensor to the window more securely, and after a few weeks, seem to be working just fine with the GE sensors. And FYI: double faced velcro tape is available at Dollar Tree, and comes with more than enough in order to mount the five alarms and sensors. Positives: 1) The alarm on the GE units is very loud. 2) These seem to be of a better quality than others that are on the market.
