The pale grey area is slightly quilted and I think you can sponge clean it. There's no bar across the front, to dig in behind your knees There is a large mesh pocket at the back, great for your magazines, and any other bits and pieces. The cooker in the arm is great for your suncream and afters un lotion, as well! Unlike a lot of camping chairs, this chair has a full seat, which protects your back from draughts, and catches the things that fall out of your pockets.
