I'm age 60 and training for a race. I also bought Morton Salt Substitute, 3.12-Ounce (88.6g) (Pack of 6) for potassium, but calf was still swollen and sore. And I added calcium (yogurt) and magnesium (pills) to my diet. I am no buckwheat expert, and I can't tell if these have been toasted at all or not. But I put 1/3 cup of buckwheat and about 4 times the water in a bowl and put it in the microwave for a minute to heat it up and let it sit a few hours and soak. Then I put the microwave on for a minute more, and eat. It tastes no worse than oatmeal, perhaps better. Shipping was well done. No spillage. I suspected a wheat allergy because I had a lot of inflammation, but I'm not sure if it's because at harvest time for wheat, soybeans, and corn the farmers spray the crops with RoundUp.
