It has 3 speeds, and when I put it on high, I barely hear it running, which can be annoying with most fans. I am able to sit this fan on my desk. But when I need the extra desk space, it is very easy to extend the arm so I can use it as a floor model. Very versatile. I’ll admit, some days the battery life sucks. But during the black out, I was able to take a nap for a few hours and when I woke up it was still going.
