The hat is light weight (I hardly know I am wearing it), water resistant, quick drying (It often gets wet at the pool), folds flat (and takes up very little room), has a wide brim (covers my face nicely), chin strap (which I use on windy days and put inside the hat when not needed) and pony tail access (love this!). I keep one in my pool bag and one in a bag I take to my granddaughter's soccer games. It was inexpensive and I may buy 2 more: one to keep in my suitcase and another to keep at home for my daily walks. I'm glad I bought these. Two thumbs up! Update: I now have at least 4 of these hats: pool bag, soccer bag, suitcase and car, in different colors. I have also purchased these for my daughter and granddaughters. The style and material was great. My only issue, is it was pretty tight. I have a large head and I read reviews on it before I bought it saying it fit large heads. It did fit but was pretty uncomfortable at first until I broke it in some.
