Review: Accurate, But know what you buying First. - People, I have prepare a chart that will show you both pitch pipes in the key of A, and the key of E. Keep in mind the music notes on an 88 key piano, repeat like this. ABCDEFGA, this is the sequence of 8 notes, whereas if it's keyed in the key of A, (A) gets repeated as low (A) and high (A). So these pitch pipes start in different locations depending on the key, low medium and high. I have 2 pitch pipes. The key of A and the key of E. They are keyed in the key of A as low A and the key of E as medium or normal E. Also remember that this repeating pattern of notes goes on to higher and higher frequencies as the pattern repeats. Example. ABCDEFGABCDEFGABCDEFG So in some way of speaking, you're buying in the dark, because these pitch pipes don't tell you where you are at on the chromatic scale. But this chart should help. Study carefully. Special note, the pitch pipes I bought are very accurate for the frequencies you see below. The reason you would buy a pitch pipe is to use it for a reference, in this case they are an accurate reference, but of course having only 13 of the most relevant pitches. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Should i go with this a or the e version if i want to use it to learn ear training for guitar, piano, shamisen, and voice?**
A: The E version is the standard vocal quartet pipe for the treble clef. The A version is pitched lower. I like the A version when practicing bass or baritone part to verify notes.

**Q: Would this be alright for a collegiate mixed a capella group? The starting pitch given is usually the bass note.**
A: My women's barbershop quartet loves that it is a lower pitched pipe (often the very note our bass sings.) Good quality sound that carries to all ears as well. Love, love, love mine.

**Q: Which tombo.is best for ladies barbershop quartet 13a or e?**
A: Use the E variety. It is the standard pipe used by Barbershop Quartets world wide. The 13E is pitched more appropriately for ladies and mixed barbershop quartets alike. I have both versions and like to use the A version when part learning because it is pitched down 5. It is sometimes easier to use for the bass/bari note checking.

**Q: has anyone's pipe developed problems? A few people said notes weren't in pitch. I assume they checked it with a piano and not just their "ear"**
A: Not that I'm aware of. I gave this pipe to my husband who has used it in worship. He played French horn & has near perfect pitch. He has not had any problem with it since January.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice, if you're willing to wait
*by D***L on December 2, 2017*

It works great for me--all the holes work, it has good tone, and it looks really neat. Also, I like the carrying case. But be prepared to wait. I ordered this on October 11th. They said I'd have it between Nov. 1 and Nov. 15. I got it Nov. 28th, on the same day I was going to write them an email asking where it was. If you're willing to wait 6 weeks, it's pretty nice. Now I didn't need instant gratification on this thing, but that's a little extreme. The rating of 5 stars is because I liked the product itself. I'm not madly in love with it, but it's pretty nice.
