I have it mounted with a surge protector strapped to the underside. It was easy to route cables through and seems to be holding the weight (there are quite a few power bricks in there in addition to the surge protector strapped to the bottom). I ended up having to use a pliers to bend the low side wider so that my surge protector would fit in. I'm also buying some flat plug extenders to make it fit better.
