You don’t need to fill it up all that often bc it holds a lot. **Q: Does it grind such spices as cumin and coriander?** A: I don't see why you couldn't, though anything harder than peppercorns could damage the burrs. I don't think those spices are harder. Also, I would use a separate grinder in order to maintain the integrity of pepper flavor for dishes in which you don't use cumin or coriander. I use a coffee grinder for those other spices because I prefer to toast them briefly before grinding. **Q: Does it feature some kind of window or gauge or something to see how full it is, or do I need to get the transparent model?** A: There is no window or gauge, but I haven't found this to be a problem...it's easy to pop the top off and check...they have a large capacity, so refilling hasn't been needed very often! **Q: There are many complaints of replacements that are not as durable and don't work as well by long time owners. Have materials and construction changed?** A: The mechanics of it are fine but I have noticed that the top is cracking and I will eventually need to glue it.
