I would say tight but not over tight. As far as the torque specs I have no idea but definitely not a hundred and twenty **Q: what is the function of this switch on a 4l60e 1996 gmc on the valve body and the purpose of transmission opertation and whatmanifold temperture is** A: Is basically a pressure switch, it measures oil pressure and sends signal to transmission control module and base on that it calculates the shifting. **Q: does The plastic cover come with it ?** A: Don't remember. Came with whatever was needed as a unit. I ended up taking the vehicle to a reputable tranny shop where the part was replaced per code provided, plus oil and filter (I provided filter) was changed. My vehicle has a drain plug.
