I didn’t use the included guards but appreciate that they were included. The fans a quiet, move a lot of air, and are operating perfectly.

The most difficult part of the replacement was taking apart the Drobo in which the fan was put in. The fan wire connection hooked up in a matter of seconds and all the noise stopped completely once everything was put back together.
