Although I think this book applies to all walks of life- I think if you are like me- a 30 something who carefully planned out your life ( i.e. go to college, have a successful career, get married, travel the world, buy a house & then have a baby) you might find that adjusting to this new mama life will rock your world, too. As the author writes in the book (and it makes SO much sense!) you spent the last three decades figuring out who you are as a person and establishing yourself in the world. And then all of a sudden your world drastically changes within minutes and you soon realize you have to mourn that person you once were and try to figure out who this new person is. For me, this was difficult to verbalize and even understand how I felt, so reading this book truly helped me decipher my thoughts & feelings and be able to better deal with them and communicate them to my husband, family and friends. After I read it, I immediately gifted it to all of my new mama friends. I'm so glad I had this book to read while I was pregnant with my first baby and now she's here I will go for round two. Not only is it honest and sometimes raw but hilarious and loving.
