Review: Heavy duty - My husband is 6'1" and weighs 266. My contractor installed this for us. Must be put in studs. He installed a 2"x 12" board so we could put it where we wanted. We've had it over 1 year now and it has been a huge help for him getting out of the shower. It is installed outside the shower so he can grab it, instead of the shower door to balance.

A: The 8962 has a built-in toilet paper holder.  The 8960 does not.

**Q: What are the exact dimensions of the mounting plate and where are the mounting screw holes?**
A: Width of plate 5 3/4 wide. 11 1/2 length. Screw holes 1/2 inch from top & sides on four corners.

**Q: Does the clip come with the grab bar to hold it to the wall?**

**Q: When the rail is folded up if someone were to try and use it for support will it hold their weight or simply fold down causing them to lose balance?**
A: When folded in the "up" position the rail should be locked into the clip, also mounted on the wall as shown in the photo.  If securely clipped in the rail was fine for my loved one to lean against or for light support, but it will not have the stability or same capacity to support body weight as it does when folded down. You can hold onto the rail, but I would not plan on full weight bearing.

My mom is 80, she has fallen off the toilet twice, but the vanity is between the toilet and vanity so a standard bar would not work. This one is absolutely wonderful!! It is super sturdy, she can reach the toilet paper on the bar so much easier. I can't recommend this superior bar enough. Oh, you don't have to use the bracket to fold it up and stay next tp the wall.....there is enough resistance to where it stays vertical on its own.
