I believe that Samsonite is paying attention to so many airlines that are becoming notoriously tight in which bags they accept, and especially, smaller airlines in Europe now make it very difficult to get luggage onboard. But, so far, my current Samsonite roller bag (the same. but older version of this bag), is working for me. I would have kept this bag but for it's decreased size, so I reluctantly returned it. By the way, I never buy hard shell bags because they are much more difficult to get into overhead bins and have less flexibility when stuffing items, also they are heavier :). I usually check it so for 3yrs of tsa abuse, I'd say its worth it! The side pocket is what ripped, it must have gotten caught on something in the process of being put on the plane. I usually take 4-5day trips and this has plenty of room for my work outfits and other clothes.
