She is in 4th grade and wears a size 10 in girls. I measured her and bought the large. It is the same size as her normal panties. Just in case anyone was wondering. As for the period part, I can't comment yet. She has yet to start. I bought these to be prepared, and for her to keep in her period kit. They are thicker in the parts they claim to be. Only time will tell! These fit my 8 year old perfectly but I am not sure how they will do for period panties. I put water on them and it did soak it up... kind of. It is hard to explain how it wicks the moisture away from the skin and locks it between the exterior of the panty and the panty lining.
