I can almost liken it to cooking chocolate. Also flavour wise maybe liken it to essence of fruit cake. (Plain one - yet to try mint and orange.) Not very sweet. Texture wise is not disimilar to normal chocolate, maybe a bit dryer. If I had to choose a type of chocolate it most resembles I would say dark chocolate. I think perhaps it’s either an acquired taste or you’ll love or hate it sorta thing. I will definitely try it again - but it’s not very moreish, like I wouldn’t be looking forward to it so to speak, like I wouldn’t be all like oooh I can’t wait to have my carob later, haha! But that’s probably a good thing because it’s expensive and you’d soon be bankrupt if you wanted it too much! Just give it a go! Review: Definitely not a replacement for chocolate as it has a very different flavour and texture. - Too soft, and rather than break into squares it just bent. It has a strange, bitter taste and cloying texture which I wasn't keen on. I cannot eat caffeine, therefore normal chocolate is impossible, but I can eat white chocolate and I will stick to that, rather than this substitute. In saying that, I do like D & D's carob powder, which makes brilliant substitute chocolate cakes. ## Features - Suitable for vegetarians and vegans ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00BAH5X5O | | Allergen Information | Contains: Gluten Free, Wheat Free | | Brand | Siesta | | Brand Name | Siesta | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 out of 5 stars 48 Reviews | | Diet Type | Vegan, Vegetarian | | Item Dimensions | 10 x 10 x 10 millimetres | | Item Form | Bar | | Item Package Weight | 0.06 Kilograms | | Item Weight | 50 Grams | | Item weight | 50 Grams | | Manufacturer | Siesta | | Material Features | No Added Sugar | | Material feature | No Added Sugar | | Model Number | 32004 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Number of items | 1 | | Package Type Name | Box | | Part Number | 32004 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Post-workout, Pre-workout | | Size | 50 g (Pack of 1) | | Specialty | suitable_for_vegans | | Total Eaches | 1 | | Total each | 1 | | Unit Count | 50.0 gram | | Unit count | 50.0 gram | ## Images ![Siesta No Added Sugar Natural Carob Bar 50 g - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71rgZwLVyeL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s a chocolate substitute if you’re desperate like me! *by M***W on 12 July 2020* This is by no means chocolate, but it’s the nearest thing I can possibly find to try and help cure my chocolate cravings now I’m suddenly unable to consume caffeine without suffering bad consequences.
