While every page of the author's experience is useful, you can also start slowly and work toward adding more as you go along and gain confidence. This book is also an entertaining read with short story paragraphs to illustrate his points. So far each book from the author, Caleb Warnock, has been informative, insightful and useful. I highly recommend this book and suggest you would find his other books worthwhile. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not Nearly As Good As The Others In This Series *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2015* This book is not nearly as good as the previous books in this series.This book is not as well written and readable as Mr. Warnock's previous books. It doesn't flow as well. I found it much more tedious and less enjoyable than previous books in the series. I put it down many times and walked away, it did not hold my interest like his other books did.There are also quite a lot of editorial mistakes - the editing was not done well for this book. [This was not a problem in previous volumes]. This bothered me a lot in a supposedly professionally done book. For example, on page 67, there is a sentence that reads "Put the on the chest." An editor should have caught such an error and corrected it. On page 61, a sentence says "Studies show garlic helps fight some cancers from growing." This isn't really proper writing. There were many little editorial errors like this through the book, and I found it very annoying.The book is also poorly organized. The book begins with a separate introduction for each author. It is followed by a chapter on "How Herbs Work" and a section on harvesting and using herbs, dosages, et. Then there is a part of the book that is devoted to a few specific herbs that the authors like a lot. Each herb has its own mini-chapter. Then there are mini-chapters on various cures for specific illnesses - broken bones, etc. These mini-chapters are not that great - too brief to be really helpful, and confusingly organized.This book also continues with the extensive self promotion that was found in the previous books. I really don't mind hearing about his seed business, but it really starts to be obnoxious when it is mentioned over and over and over again in almost every chapter. I do feel like I paid for an advertisement in a lot of ways.All of this said, it is a decent primer on some basic herbalism. I think there are much better books on the market for this; but if you know nothing about herbs, you will learn a good bit in this book, once you get past these other issues. You would not want this to be your *only* book on herbal medicine though, it is far too superficial.I own all of this author's books, but I don't know if I'll be buying any more than come out moving forward.
