It's more expensive to take 60 mg twice a day, and unnecessary for most people. In my case (I'm super-sensitive) I go with 60 because I can't tolerate 90. I have Sjogrens, and the 90 all at once dries me out too much. It's great for most people. With 60 mg also -- with my doctor's blessing -- I can split the caplet and take 30 mg in the a.m. and 30 at night -- a child's dose in a form much more convenient for adults than the stuff packaged for kids. Which is it? I don't know what you're looking at. I'm looking at a "12 hour" box in the illustration at left. The stronger dose LOOKS just the same, but says "24 hour" clearly on the front of the box.
