I have a chess set with larger size pieces and I want to make sure they are going to fit well.** A: If the board is less than 16 inches how could the eight squares be 2 by 2 inches ???? My boards have 2 inch squares or 2 1/4 inch plus a boarder **Q: Strange question....but I have a stool that the seat height is 19.5in. Would this work with this table?** A: It will definitely work but you may be sitting a little low. You can use a regular chair. It is tall enough. The table is 27.6" tall but about 2-3 inches is the thickness of the table top because it has drawers.
