Without turning it, Insert master key in/out of ignition 5 times, leave key in on 5th insert. 3. Now close/open the driver door 6 times, leaving the door open the 6th time. 4. Pull out master key, the security light (on the left of the steering wheel in the panel) will light solid (program mode). Immediately insert the unprogrammed key DO NOT TURN. 5. Leave key in ign for 60-80 sec, security lights flashes, when it stops flashing. Remove replacement key. 6. Immediately insert Master key into ignition and turn it to on position, don’t start the car, then off and remove. Done! Now try the new key, the car should start. I had to do it a couple times but it worked and I now have a spare for my daughter’s car. Review: Works on '06 Toyota Sequoia! - We just purchased a used 2006 Toyota Sequoia Limited, and of course it came with only one key. I took this to the local Ace hardware store so it could be cut, and they only begrudgingly did it, because they were concerned about liability since I did not purchase it from them. Once I assured the salesman that I only paid $9 for the key here on desertcart, and would not be heartbroken in the least if they ruined it, they cut it for me. For free. Once I got home, I searched high and low to find the proper sequence to get it programmed. There were numerous different recipes that I saw, but absolutely none of them worked. Finally, after about two hours of absolute frustration, I happened to stumble across the recipe below. It worked on the first try! I couldn't be happier with this $9 purchase!
