I use hair color to cover my gray and it only made it to a slightly dark brown color. I normally keep hair color on for at least 1 1/2 - 2 hours to make sure it penetrates my hair shaft, but this product was running down my face and neck because of the plastic cap you're supposed to wear. Even after taking the cap off after 5 minutes, the dye kept running and I had to jump up every 3 minutes to wipe it off so it wouldn't drip on the floor and the weather was still pretty cool, so I can't blame it on spring/summer heat.
