I bought this because I liked the idea of the light gradually getting brighter, that you could choose how long it took for the light to get bright, and that you could set the final brightness. In theory this all sounds great, right?The problem is that even the lowest light level (when it first comes on) is bright enough to wake me up. And, if you set it to gradually brighten over time, you can't hit 'snooze' until it's reached it's maximum brightness, because that's the 'alarm' time. Example: I set the alarm for 6 am, with 20 minutes of light increase. The (surprisingly bright) dim light comes on at 5:40, wakes me up, and I can't hit snooze until 6 am. The other issue is that you can't NOT have sounds to accompany the light. They give you a variety of sounds to choose from, but for me the whole point of getting this clock was to NOT wake up to noise.I've only had it for a couple of weeks, and I'm still playing with the settings. I don't think I'll ever be in love with it, but I do like it better than a traditional alarm clock. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty neat alarm clock for the money *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2019* This has been a pretty neat device for someone who stopped using an alarm clock years ago because it didn't help me to wake up. However, I do have a few complaints. The birdsong sound, which is my preference for waking up, is noticeably repetitive. The sound sample needs to be longer and with fewer percussive moments. Also, I wish that once the light is on in the morning or would stay on until you manually shut it off. Same for the sound. Also, it could be a good deal brighter and, conversely be capable of more steps and lower light levels at the dim end. Also, when you are trying to fall asleep at night (which I really never needed help with) the notches in the decreasing sound level are noticeable and distracting.Memory function is awesome, since you can take it with you and not have to reset time and alarm settings, as long as you stay within the same time zone (as I seem to always do, regrettably) and the USB out port is a nice touch. Wish it had two. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ RETIRE YOUR OLD ALARMCLOCK *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2019* SO... I have been using the same alarm clock since I was 15... which was YEARS ago!! It's one of those old clunky brown clock radios. It's huge, tacky, when the music goes off in the morning is sounds like a scratchy disaster and definitely doesn't match my beautiful grey and white modern bedroom. I have been refusing for years to replace it because it works and why would I fix something that is working... WELL it finally gave out, #RIP, my husband was very happy about this! I was sad at first. I didn't want to shop for a new one. then I started searching on Amazon, and I found this one! I got it all set up and ready to use right when I got it, reluctant to of course... the next morning this beautiful thing lit up and oh my goodness I instantly regretted not retiring my old brown POS years ago!!!If you're like me and you have a old hideous alarm clock do your spouse a favor and listen to them when they say throw it away and buy another one! because let me tell you not only do i regret my decision but my husband is not letting me live this down!!I love this thing!!
