A: I searched the package and there is no mention of anything about nuts or a nut factory.This is a organic high quality product. There is a phone # 800-343-7833 for contacting company.Call them and ask

**Q: How long is the shelf life?**
A: I keep mine in the refrigerator and I keep it sealed.  I've used it past the 3-4 months but I admit, I use it in baked items and sauces and haven't had any issues or noticed any change in taste or smell.  I don't do smoothies and perhaps the flavor is stronger there.

**Q: what is the expiration date of this product**
A: The official date will be different in every package. I'm not sure if the shelf life un-opened but it will last a few months after opened. Best refrigerated longer if frozen

Very pleased to find this product at such a great price. It arrived on time and in tact and the flaxseed looks and tastes great. We were getting our flaxseed in bulk from a grocery store that is kind of out of the way. We would buy several containers at a decent price, but would always fail to notice when we grabbed the last container from the pantry and it seems like we run out every time and have to go without until we can get over to that specific store. Other grocery stores carry flaxseed, but it is always so expensive. I decided it was time to look online and was pleased to come across this product. Spectrum is a brand that I already trusted and I am very pleased with the quality of this product too. Since it is a large quantity in a single pouch, we will always know when it is time or reorder. Also, it is offered on Subscribe and Save, which we use every month, so I'll just scheduled it to come every month or two with our other subscriptions. If you've never used that before, you can save 15% off your entire order with 5 or more subscriptions per month. Just find stuff you use already and subscribe to save. We add ground flaxseed to a lot of different things. I first started using it years ago in my fruit smoothies and noticed an improvement in my skin. Whether or not it was related, I'm not sure, but my skin has been clearer ever since. Not only do we add it to smoothies, where you do not even notice it is there, sometimes I add it to eggs, rice, oatmeal, and other things. You can cook with it or add it at the end and mix it in. We meal prep our lunches for the week every Sunday and my husband mixes it into his lunch. I mix it into the sweet potatoes that I put in my lunch too. Flaxseed has tons of healthy Omega 3 fatty acids, which are great for your body in many ways. Even though you can mix it into your food and not notice it, I think it has a pleasant flavor. I was able to actually receive this on the same day I ordered because another product I ordered qualified for free same day delivery through Prime. Amazon will bundle multiple orders together if they are at the same warehouse and this must be stocked locally.
