Review: Nice Antenna - Bought these for my UV-5R and my soon to arrive GMRS-9R to use at work as to not damage their stock antennas. Using it with my 5R over the matter of a few weeks, its a really nice antenna. I'm not a radio expert, but for general use they work well. Reception is quite well, so long as there aren't too many obstructions. Transmission is shockingly good too. Range is a bit less than my stock antenna, but enough I can get through to my coworkers from our concrete warehouse. Durability is good too. I've bumped them into things countless times and they hold up well.

**Q: How is the receive on these..not all that concerned with the transmit, just the receive quality?**
A: They work well for what they are. They are stubby antennas. Any stubby is for carry convenience. You're giving up tx/rx for easier carry. One of the primary reasons for amateur radio is experimentation. I see these ridiculous statements made in these review blogs, and it only reminds me of where amateur radio is headed. It's a shame.

**Q: Will this work with dual band kenwood 1302?**
A: hint: they don't work. dead load. reflects back to the final.

**Q: Will these fit a radio shack pro-89 scanner?**
A: they are worthless and show as a dead on reflector. no power comes out the antenna. get something Nagoya or diamond. even abree...

**Q: Is this compatible with the UV-5X(UV-5G) fir Receiving and Transmitting?**

Good little antennas that are very flexible. I had to use super glue on one of them to anchor the rubber cove to the base because it would pop off the base if flexed too far and this could allow dirt and dust to get inside. I seem to get good distance too, I was able to work a repeater from about 12 miles out on 2 meters with it and for a 2.5 inch antenna, that's pretty good!
