I only use them occasionally because of this. The appearance isn't great, it looks like a sanitary pad. It would've been nice to have a design printed on the outside. These are single use but it's great if you don't like anything heavy on your eyes like a wheat bag. When it reaches it's peak temperature it does get a little uncomfortable, I don't think it's dangerous, it just feels weird. it doesn't touch your eyes so I think it's okay. This unscented version is perfect for people with sensory difficulties and sensitive skin. I find the scented ones are overpowering and take away from the relaxing experience.
