This product is likely to be most effective on less durable woods, like thinly sawn pine and spruce. **Q: Can this be put on a shed after using silka wood preserver?** A: I am not certain but I seem to recall the instructions refer to going on to clean, dry wood. It seems to need to soak in to provide a waxy layer. Try a patch and see how it goes? **Q: Would this be good to use in new decking and keep the original colour** A: We used this cream on a driveway gate which although had been treated before fitting has now reached an age where it needs more protection. Water just beads off my outdoor dining set. You can see where you’ve been. It needs practice in that: It’s pretty thick, so I found it hard to paint it on well and, if you go back where you’ve been to try and thin it out, it goes a bit like rubber shavings.
