The blade rarely wriggled off line and was usually down to me trying to cut too many sheets at once. The blade was sharp and held its sharpness well. The base is medium heavy. You don't wanted a lightweight base for this sort of job. There is a plastic handle to fit over the end of the blade. I split the plastic while trying to fit it. I don't know whether that was my fault or not. But the blade was perfectly usable with the split handle. You do need to fix the 'feet' yourself, which they supply. It cuts well and the additional 'placer' that holds the paper in place before you cut is a great feature. It also helps you cut at the right place in my experience.
