The parts were expensive, but the fix was still less expensive because I did it myself. This time my dryer stopped heating up, and a little searching indicated that it could be one of three sensor/fuses or a bad heating element. I went online to the previous vendor's site and the price for the element and fuses was $$$. Just out of curiosity, I went on to desertcart and found a package deal from this vendor with all three fuses and heating element for $$- big difference, much less expensive! Having taken it apart I found that the heating element was broken. The replacement. element fit perfectly and I think it may be constructed with a more resilient wire for longer life. The three sensor/fuses also were identical to the original- I installed them too as a precaution. A few minutes cleanup inside with a vacuum cleaner and lubricant for the drum rollers and It was as good... and maybe better... than new. I had a repair technician come out once already to replace a heater element in my dryer, and 40 days after the repair warranty expired, my dryer's high-limit switch then went out. I didn't want to spend yet another $330 to have them come out to replace this part too, so I took a chance and ordered this kit instead. There are quite a few Youtube videos on how to make these repairs and it really is quite simple. I spent more time watching the videos than doing the actual repair. I went ahead and swapped out all 3 components even though the heater was already replaced. The key when doing this repair is to ensure the heater coil is NOT touching any metal component whatsoever - and the included instructions also stress this point. This is easy to do visually when reassembling the heater. All the components worked without issue when I plugged the unit back in and have been for a week now.
