The radios can use 4 AAA alkaline batteries as well. At $14.43 from DirectedTec these radios are a great buy. **Q: They are described to work 24 miles, they dont even work 4. I guess i should return. I need it to work in town, any suggestions?** A: You're probably looking for something with more output watts. This particular radio has an output rating of .5 watts. While they work well for shorter distances, you'd probably want something with 2 or 4 watts, but keep in mind that any obstructions - buildings, concrete, walls, traffic, trees, mountains, etc. will greatly reduce the distance. The Midland GXT1000VP4 is reportedly a 5-watt radio, but a pair may be spendy. Another option is the Baofeng UV-5R, which puts out 4-5 watts and are relatively inexpensive. **Q: Hi, is the power adaptor for charge station 110 volts or dual, 110-240? it would say on the ac/dc adaptor itself. Thank you very much.** A: As of August 2017 the Charge Station Adapter input voltage is 100-240 volts **Q: are these competable with the midland lxt535?** A: They will be compatible with any other FCC regulated FRS/GMRS radios on the market. ## Frequently Bought Together - Midland - LXT500VP3, 22 Channel FRS Walkie Talkies with Channel Scan - Extended Range Two Way Radios, Silent Operation, Batteries Included (Pair Pack) (Black) - Midland AVPH3 Transparent Security Headsets with PTT/VOX – Wrap Around Design – Lasting Comfort Pair, Black - Reyinl Two-Way Radio Earpiece Compatible Midland Ear-Clip Headset for Midland Walkie Talkie Earpiece,2 Packs --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/1158782-lxt500vp3-22-channel-frs-walkie-talkies-with-channel-scan](https://www.desertcart.us/products/1158782-lxt500vp3-22-channel-frs-walkie-talkies-with-channel-scan) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
