## Description

The Rampage 20-60x80 Spotting Scope Kit from Redfield is an all-in-one glassing setup that comes with a compact tripod, carrying case with strap, and view-through case that has fold-down objective and eyepiece access that allows the observer to use their scope without removing the case. The Rampage scope has a fully multi-coated optical path that uses BAK4 prism glass and an 80mm objective lens to maximize image brightness and clarity. A 20-60x zoom range and 14-foot close-focus distance make this configuration of the Rampage scope well suited for intermediate- to long-range observations. A nitrogen-filled polycarbonate housing makes the Rampage scope both lightweight and ready to endure the elements. Complementing the durable housing is rubber armoring and slip-resistant ridges that are especially useful when mounting or focusing this optic while wearing winter gloves. Deep knurling on the focus knob's rubber gripping surfaces yields tactile feedback and enhances control. Further enhancing the user-friendly features of the Rampage scope are a twist-up eyecup and a generous 19-17mm eye relief that help to provide a comfortable viewing experience for eyeglass wearers. **Q: Is this scope water prof or fog prof?**
A: I'm pretty sure it said it was. I haven't used it a lot or in the rain but it has never been fogged up. I found this on their WEB SITE for you. The model shown was a 67700 (I think) but I think it the same warranty. Go to the Redfielf web site and call them just to be sure. When dollars count and you need more magnification, the RedfieldRampage 20-60x60mm spotting scope is up to the challenge. Allof the features you need for a lifetime of use in the field, with noneof the additional cost. Features like a polycarbonate body to reduceweight; fully multicoated lenses and a premium BAK4 prism for asuperior image; a retractable lens shade to reduce glare; a twistup/down eyecup for use with or without eyeglasses; and Redfield'srenowned waterproof and fog proof technology. With a magnification range from 20x to 60x, the Rampageallows for the perfect balance of magnification and field-of-viewregardless of the situation; and the standard 1/4 -20 thread tripodadapter port allows for easy installation on any standard tripod orwindow mount. **Q: does this item come with a tripod? the product description does not say one way or the other..**
A: Yes, it comes with a small tripod that works well. It also comes with a carry bag and a nice scope cover

**Q: What is the warranty on this item?**
A: All Redfield products have a No Excuses warranty. This warranty is the same as Leupold's, the parent company.

**Q: I'm looking for a desktop application to view boats in the distance. Can an angled scope be comfortably used from a sitting position?**
A: Yes. I use mine at the gun range. I shoot...turn my head and look, then shoot again. You're able to rotate the scope so the eyepiece is at the angle you need it.

GREAT INVESTMENT FOR AN AMATEUR BIRD NUT

*by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2015*

I love birds, and I recently moved to a home that is right on a migratory flyway, in a small clearing on a mountainside. I could not afford a luxury professional-grade scope, so after some research on value for the money and customer ratings, I settled on the Redfield Rampage 20-60x80. There are some bird species that come right to my feeders (where I keep the scope trained 90% of the time), and other, more shy species that more or less hide in the plentiful trees and shrubs on and near my property, making them almost impossible to view in any kind of rest state without a good lens. I also have spectacular views of a national park from my home. This scope allows me to study birds in the minutest detail, and it's been a delight this year to see species I have never seen before, let alone in such beautiful close-up vision, even when they are well tucked into the shadows of a fir shrub. At the same time, with simple adjustment I can watch a waterfall several miles distant, and the fall colors right now are spectacular. The Rampage 20-60x80 is *NOT* a lightweight scope, so for field viewing I would think most users would want to use the tripod that came with it. Also with it is a very nice padded shoulder-strap carry case, so it can safely be transported to a campground or on a hike or wherever you want to take it. I've read the reviews about the tight-fitting sleeve, and I agree, Redfield COULD have been a little more generous about that, but all in all I am very happy with my purchase -- so much so that when I was trying to think of a really different kind of wedding gift for my outdoorsy niece and her new husband, who love to hike and camp, I bought another one for them. My next goal is to buy the adjustment fittings for my camera and iPhone. Nice scope for the money!

For the money you are getting a fantastic product. It's definitely not the $600-$1000+ Leupold, but the value is definitely there. You could spend $400-$600 on this scope and still be satisfied. The good:1. Price2. Build quality is more than sufficient.3. Prisms and glass produce a crisp image in most lighting.4. It's waterproof and fogproof.5. Clarity is had throughout the entire scope of magnification (all the way from 20x-60x).6. While it is a "full size" scope it's weight is totally doable in the hunting field, not even noticeable.7. Good lens covers.8. Has an adjustable eye relief cup on the eyepiece so you can rest your eye on the eyepiece and you don't have to guess at the distance for full scope viewing. The bad:1. A little prism affect on the horizon and edges of paper targets. Not distracting or overbearing, and should not be a deterrent from purchasing.2. Some ghosting at full magnification 60x viewing a white paper target at 100 yards. Also not distracting and should not be a deterrent from buying.3. The included tripod is adequate for table scoping, but since it doesn't have adjustable legs it isn't a huge benefit afield. Just buy a tripod and sell the included one on Craigslist to a photographer, should be an easy $10-$20.All in all, I would buy this spotting scope again. It definitely isn't as crisp as the midrange spotting scopes, but it performs well in comparison to them. My buddy has a Leupold compact and I had no trouble seeing everything he was seeing elk hunting last weekend. Same goes for sighting in the hunting rifles at the range. This is a great entry level scope that performs in the midrange spotting scope class and holds its own. If you're on the fence about buying try it out. If it's not what you are satisfied with you can always send it back and invest in a more expensive one. That was my thought and I have no qualms keeping it and being excited to use it at the range or hunting.

    Out of the box review

*by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2014*

Out of the boxEverything in the big Amazon box arrived on time and in perfect condition. I was excited to get to handle the scope and begin sighting objects.First of all -- because of all the prior reviews, I was expecting that the plastic tripod would be a piece of junk. Not so. I am certainly no tripod expert, and a real birder or photographer would probably laugh me out of town -- but, I think the tripod is at worst .... more than adequate. The 8 1/2 inch legs are not adjustable. But you can raise the platform up and down from 10.0" to 13 3/4". As for the plastic, it is IMO heavy-duty enough to last a lifetime. I am an engineer, so I feel qualified to comment on that. For my primary and secondary intentions, the shooting range and then looking at the moon and planets, it will serve just fine. The scope is impressive for the money. I took some sightings about 300 yds away, and on 60 power, the image (a 4" stove pipe on a roof -- maybe 3 feet high) was almost too big to fill the objective lens. So I got a little more realistic. I have a big wooden fence around my yard. At about 50 yds away, I brought out my old 7x35 binocs and could not pick out two nail heads (about the diameter of a .223 round) up close to the top of one of the posts. With the Redfield scope, they are clear as a bell on the lowest power of 20. At 60 power -- it is like you are ready to touch them. I cannot describe this any better for those of you who intend to add this to your range bag. .223 will never again be hard to see. All of my target shooting, here at the range I belong to, will be in the 25-100 yd ranges. I wish we had a 300 yd range, but I am going to have go elsewhere to test out the true potential of my AR.I will report again after a few range visits.
